Affirmation
Psalm 139:14 "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: Marvellous are thy works; And that my soul knoweth right well."
You have a unique calling to work in corrections . It is an environment unlike any other, surrounded by challenges that can at times feel overwhelming. As we navigate the complexities of our job, it's easy to be weighed down by the despair that often clouds our surroundings. I encourage you to remember the wisdom found in Psalm 139:14, where David expresses his profound understanding of being “fearfully and wonderfully made.” Just as he knew the truth of his own creation, may we also hold onto the truth that we are not mistakes but rather, intricately designed by God for a significant purpose. Your role in this profession carries great meaning. The courage, resilience, and ability to bring order amidst chaos are not mere accidents; they are gifts woven into your very being by the Creator. Though we may face brokenness daily, we are called to reflect God's marvelous works through our actions. Let your presence be a light in this challenging environment. Each compassionate word and every fair action can genuinely reflect His grace. Even on the toughest days, remember that your purpose remains steadfast, grounded in the knowledge of who God is and who you are in Him. Stay strong and keep the faith, knowing that your soul can know this truth “right well.”
Today's Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you that all are fearfully and wonderfully made, and that our purpose is known right well by you. Sometimes, there is a feeling of being overwhelmed by the steel and stone, the noise, and the brokenness. Help me to remember that even here, life and work are part of your marvelous plan. Grant me wisdom to act with fairness, compassion, and integrity. Protect me and my colleagues from harm, and when the heart feels heavy, remind the soul of your loving hand in creation. In Jesus' name, Amen.
